5. Read the Evaluation Report of Tarun Bharat Sangh

In 2003, Pankaj Kumar and B M Kandpal did the Evaluation of Tarun Bharat Sangh (the Magsaysay Winning NGO of Alwar, Rajasthan) for Swedish International Development Agency (Sida), New Delhi. A LFA Workshop and a Project proposal as well as  a Project Logframe for next 5 years was also prepared. 6. Details of Community-owned Microhydel project at Malari implemented by Pankaj and Yashpal as part of SPWD, Dehradun.

In 2001-2002, Dehradun Office of Society for Promotion of Wastelands Development, New Delhi installed a 50 KW community-owned Microhydel plant in Bhotiya village Malari, 35 km from the Indo-Tibet Border.

The project cost is merely 27 lakhs (of which village contribution was 11 lakhs, mainly in the form of labour). A similar project by the Uttaranchal Government costs about One Crore to 1.25 Crores and will not create any institution, will not impart training to village operators and will not establish any maintenance fund. 8. Presentation made by Pankaj at Stockholm in December 2003

As part of an assignment at Oxfam India (now Svaraj), an NGO based at Bangalore, Pankaj visited Stockholm and presented details about Oxfam India's South India Water Management Programme supported by Sida.
